It's cast in several colors making painting unnecessary, though I did paint it. About my only complaint about the kit are the stickers. They were a little thick to lay flat in the ears. I painted them instead and they came out looking great. There are multiple facial poses for the large figure including one that has Grogu eating a frog which is hilarious. The regular retail price was on par with hobby shops, but I got mine as a Prime Days deal so I "practically stole" it for around $5.00. What a great value. It was easy to assemble.
