I know mine was very stiff the first time I opened it and I couldn’t get the middle to latch down so I laid on it and that did the trick. Otherwise something might be caught but without seeing it is difficult to diagnose. **Q: Is the oxford cloth that is attached to the base noisy when you move or roll over?** A: No not really. When I roll or move on you can hear the legs creaking but it’s not loud or comes off as cheap. It is very thin, basically just a blanket. If I did not need the cot right now, I would have just ordered a cheaper one.
