It's a very nice looking metalwork heron ornament during the day and at night when the solar lights kick in, it is very pretty. I bought it as a heron deterrent after a real life heron got some of my fish, time will tell whether it works for that purpose. But as a stand alone garden ornament I am very pleased with the quality and appearance, though of course in time the weather conditions may well diminish the finish. Some reviewers stated that the prong that you stick it in the ground with could do with being longer? Fingers crossed, so far I have found it to be okay. The solar panel can be easily removed [it is on the heron's back] so if you have the ornament in the shade, you can take the panel out during the day and place it in a sunny spot [I put mine on the outside of my kitchen windowsill] to charge up. The brightness is much better than I had expected it to be. All in all, I am very pleased with the item.
