I have the rp-ac55 and that's a feature i need to have.** A: Yes. **Q: Will this add a wifi 6 band if added to a non-wifi 6 aimesh network? all asus ac series routers, but no ax devices.** A: Not 100% sure but in theory your device would connect wi fi 6 but the backhaul will be mapped to the most efficient protocol supported by the router. I suspect it will work but with no speed benefit. **Q: with the AX58 in mesh mode (with AC68u asuswrt) can I use the AX58 LAN port to connect a wired 4-port switch?** A: I think so, theoretically, since it's just a LAN port and the backhaul channel makes it work just like it's plugged into your main router, HOWEVER- this version of the RP series is JUNK. Do not buy this piece. The old version, AX56 works much better. The AX58 is not an evolution, it's a terrible redesign and they broke it. With the old one you should theoretically have respectable speed off that port. My AX56 died after many years, I got a 58 and it won't stay connected.
