Review: Surprisingly Useful Novelty - I got this pad on a lark, and it’s actually become part of our weekly routine. We sit down over breakfast on the weekend, and figure out the general shape of the week - who’s home, who’s cooking which night, and if there’s a takeout night in the mix. Where this has saved us time and money is in not spending hours dithering about what to have for dinner, and also making sure we get through leftovers before we go off - ‘leftovers tapas’ has become a thing! While we certainly deviate from the plan, having a plan has been really helpful. We also repurposed one of the side boxes as a running list of things we thought about but didn’t fit into the week, so that when we plan next week there are some options waiting. So yeah, hardly critical, but surprisingly useful. I can’t say that this particular one is better than others, but we like the color and the magnet backing, so that’s the one we buy.
