I also am very happy they have dropped the pages of listings of hotels and restaurants which are better found on TA or Google or elsewhere. Yes they do still list some but within area sections. This means the book is 200 pages shorter but with more content. I am off tomorrow for 6 weeks and it only came out a week ago so I haven’t checked it all but the content on Mexico City and Puerto Vallarta is excellent . The stuff on the capital is so much better organised than it was too. I should add I have been using Lonely Planet guides since 1980 (my first was LP Nepal) Review: Not a fan of the new layout - As other reviews have mentioned, the new layout whilst improved visually, the quality/amount of content is poor and massively reduced. I used to love Lonely Planet books for restaurant recommendations, advice on how to book activities and all the other uselful advice they had in the book. Now it’s full of pictures, the layout isn’t utilising the space and gives very little recommendations for well, anything!!
