I am using this saw and another on the job, it is performing very well in this application. **Q: Why is the blade tapered in width?** A: Because these saws cut on the pull, the taper helps the teeth naturally dig in more aggressively with less down pressure. **Q: Are the sides marked so as to know which blade to do cross cuts and which side to use for rips?** A: Don't need marking. Course teeth for rip and fine teeth for crosscut. **Q: Is the blade sharpenable?** A: Not sharpenable, the steel on these saws is quite thin (due to the fact it is a β€œpull” saw).
