I have a lot of cookery books in my slightly too large collection (452 to be precise - and yes I really did count them) and this is definitely going to be one of my most used books. On taking my time it struck me this really was gastro pub grub at a high level. Spoons it is not! What does this mean? Well it’s not for someone who wants a quick bite or someone who is not a confident cook. The recipes are relatively complex and can be ingredient rich, but with that will come a depth of taste and a satisfying meal. Anyone who likes cooking and is happy to spend time in the kitchen should be well rewarded with these recipes. Many of these recipes are new tastes to me and it will be interesting to cook them. Grab a glass of wine, put some tunes on and give this a try.
