The hardiest which will survive outdoors in mild areas. Protected through winters it is able to reach heights of 4-5 meters in 5-10 years. Its thick, paddle-shaped leaves fan out from the stem in a fountain shape, becoming a large multi-stemmed clump. In summer it produces spikes of creamy-yellow flowers which are pedant. Although small bananas can appear in maturity of this plant these are inedible and it is usually grown as an attractive architectural plant. Throughout the summer it will grow in height, with new leaves unfurling almost every week. If you wish to restrict the growth, grow in a large container or pot. And could I store in my greenhouse over winter** A: Unfortunately I can’t give an answer, as all three of mine died at the first sign of frost. They are supposed to be frost hardy, but to be doubly safe, I moved mine into the greenhouse well before any frost arrived, however to no avail, the very first frost of the year killed them all. **Q: Indoor or outdoor plant? Thank you.** A: Outdoor plant but can be brought indoors in Winter. Im no gardener these are my only pots. I water them every day during the summer I put them in the shed and just leave them once the temperature gets to 2 degrees I cut all the dead leaves and sometimes cut them back.
