It may make a 'balloon' out of the bag if well sealed and explode. When I use dry ice in a cooler I usually keep it in the original plastic bag or just loosely throw it in a grocery bag (paper or plastic) and keep a layer or two or cardboard between my pre-frozen food and dry ice.
