They're slightly iridescent and very light (handle gently). Suggestions: Water your plant lightly first, fill the globe all the way, invert it with your finger over the pipe end, then gently push it into the soil near the roots. If the soil isn't too dry or too loose, the globe will release the water slowly as needed. I love these.
