So far so good.
Purchased this a couple of months ago to catch a light night doorbell ringer. Mission accomplished! Took the video down the street to the offender's house and showed his Dad, you should have seen the look on his face. Not a happy man. I didn't want something I had to have a subscription to. This has a micro-SD card slot in the inside ringer that records video when triggered. Works great. Battery life is decent, over 2 months on one charge. No hassle recharging. I give it two thumbs up!

Unstable Wifi
Ezviz needs to add the POE or ethernet connection option for this Doorbell and their Floodlight. Both of those products of EZVIZ are horrible in maintaining stable wifi connection even with a chime added or I have the Mesh Deco Wireless Router literally inside the Garage. It shows all wifi bars and good Connection on EZVIZ App yet, it would show unstable while viewing video.

Broken baseplate, company refuses to sell new one
Bought doorbell cam in summer of 2023. Do have to take off the baseplate to charge up the camera. Good news a charge last 6 months. Down fall is each time it needs a charge you end up braking a tab on the baseplate. Contacted the company. Ezviz Before they would answer my question if would they sell me a baseplate. They wanted the SN and a photo of the broken tabs. Note each email is about a 24-48 hour wait. Gave them the S/N explained if I removed the camera the last tab holding it will brake off. Heard back today from ezviz Said they have no backplate and do not sell backplate. I been going back and fourth with them for a week... If this company has so little care of their products after warranty.. And refuses to allow anyone to buy a part I own many cameras indoor and out from ezviz and have been well pleased with there products. But unable to buy a baseplate just takes the cake.

The chime is not made for the US electric system. Looks European to me.
Chime plug is foreign. Won't work in US. I suppose you could buy an adapter.

Read before buying 🤔
Great camera quality and fast notifications but few downsides: - DB2 will hook up to your existing doorbell but will not charge itself. The hook up is to trigger the Mechanical chime only. You will need to manually remove and charge this doorbell every 3 weeks. - No option to deactivate Motion Detection, you can only adjust the sensitivity. - No option to musk an area that you do not want motion to be detected. It have privacy musk but you'll have a huge black square in your camera feed. - Mounting backplate is flimsy, mounting in an angle can be challenging, screws that come with it is not long enough, must use your own screws.

Not recommended for cold climates
After retiring my trusty EZVIZ DB1, I was excited to get a chance to try the DB2. After install, I tinkered around the app, and was thoroughly impressed with the picture quality, and all the extra features compared to my DB1 I did have some reservations about it being 100% battery operated, and my reservations ended up being confirmed once the winter temperatures hit. I installed my DB2 shortly before Halloween. By December 6th, after I had checked the camera in the morning, it was showing 56% battery. That night, we had a fairly cold snap run through my city, touching -20°c. It effectively killed my DB2. I understand that cold weather can affect batteries, but the batteries themselves were still well above what I would classify as critical for the elements. Once I finally found a tool small enough to pop the doorbell off the mounting bracket, and plugged the camera in to charge, it showed 1% charge on the app. One day at -20°c took more than 50% of the battery out, in a matter of hours. I feel like this is something that could have been prepared for, if EZVIZ had instead built this unit with the batteries as a backup incase of a power outage, instead of solely relying on the battery power for the full operation. It's below freezing temperatures for 4-5 months out of the year where I live, am I not going to be able to use my doorbell during those times? Will I have to bring the doorbell in to charge every week or 2, just to make sure it doesn't prematurely discharge, and I'm left without proper video monitoring, and use of my doorbell? Overall, I'm meh on the product. More testing should have gone into it. I have a lot of EZVIZ products, even my DB1 which had a destroyed IR Cover, exposing the PCB Board worked fine well into the -30°c to -40°c territory, whereas this DB2 couldn't stand up for even 2 months. It'd be perfect in warmer climates, maybe an apartment building, but if you're anywhere that experiences temperatures below freezing, I would look for another option.
