Little bit goes a long way. My partner and I painted ourselves green (face, neck, arms, legs) and still had plenty left over from the one bottle. We dusted on baby powder afterwards to prevent transfer which helped but some clothes picked up the makeup or rubbed it off into like a dust. The transfer easily washed out of my clothes - even a white cotton blouse! I highly recommend applying it with a makeup brush, especially for large areas. It layers well if you need to go darker but will be much more likely to crack if you do this. One thick initial layer applied with a brush worked best! Safe around eyes and mouth and on hands. My partner has very sensitive skin and eczema but the makeup didn’t bother his skin at all! BEWARE: It mildly stains your skin. We had a green tint the day after, even after a thorough scrub in the shower - so definitely do it on a Friday or Saturday if you don’t want your Monday coworkers to question your skin color! It otherwise comes off very easily with just water and rubbing. The less layers you do the less staining there will be! We had significantly less staining than our friend (pictured, laying on ground) who used a makeup pot. Review: Great quality, would buy again - I was hesitant to get this because the last time I bought this in pink, my friend struggled to get the pink residue off all the way. I bought the gray this time and it worked great. It covers every mark and is a solid gray color across. If still wet, you can add more, but once it's dry, adding more can take some of it off instead (like most paints work). You'll need more layers on joints and places that get touched a lot, I think I ended up with three layers on the hands, one layer on the arms, and I did a second layer on top of the scar makeup so it matched the skin better, you can see the makeup underneath. I did make-up on top as scars and when I washed it off, the makeup had stuck to my arm somehow (it's waterproof), but the paint itself came off completely and didn't dye the skin at all. It didn't stick to the counter or sink either. It's a lighter grey when wet, darker once it dries. I tested it on the arm and face and it was the same for both. Other face paints wash off with it, just the waterproof makeup stayed on. How do you apply this?** A: We used this make up last year when we dressed up as green army men. It works great and stays on really good. I applied the powder mehron makeup as a base coat around my eyes and nose. I then used sponge squares and applied it in a blot motion for several layers. I've used this product several times in the past without a powder base, so it's really just your preference. Clean up was very easy too! Good luck! **Q: Can this be used in hair?** A: Yes. I've used the black, white and also the glow in the dark in hair and it came out with shampoo. No problem **Q: Would you recommend this for a hulk costume?** A: Absolutely yes! When it’s dry it can crack up a bit, just make sure you use primer and your skin is moisturized. Comes off very easy with water, no staining on clothes, skin, makeup brushes, but that also means you can’t get it wet. Not to wash your hands, grab a drink, sneeze, anything. It also rubs off on things you touch sometimes. My daughters dress became pink with green spots.
