It works quite well for detangling hair, even the thick, curly kind that seems determined to wrap around itself the moment you wash it. My hair is on the long side and fine, but there’s a lot of it and it gets quite messy. It’s got a good shape to hold onto, and is a good size for most hands. It’s worth the $10 but I wouldn’t spend more than that. The only “drawback” is that it doesn’t smooth the hair the way it seems to suggest. I mean, I wasn’t expecting miracles, my hair has been frizzy and tangled all my life, but the ad seems to imply that it makes it smooth— it doesn’t, unless you’ve got straight hair. Still, deranging without ripping huge chunks of hair out is rather miraculous. I also bought one for my niece who has sensory issues and doesn’t brush her hair for anyone so her hair gets quite messy. She liked the sound the brush makes when you brush it through your hair, and it DID smooth hers quite well and didn’t pull, so bonus.
