I was very confused about how to attach this when I got it, since only one side appeared sticky and was already stuck fast to itself. It was a while before I figured out the other side was a peel away film, this was hard to figure out because it was so hard to get off the film cover! Neither side was sticky enough to stay attached to my carpet whilst I was trying to peel away the film, and I couldn't do it all in one go because it would get stuck to me, itself and every invisible hair in existence! I only got it halfway onto my carpet before I gave up entirely, and it left a horribly sticky mess on my carpet and fingers β€” even though it didn't stay stuck in place! I don't think it would have secured my carpet well even if I had managed to get this on. And I've found it comes off both the floor and the mats very easily but when I put the mats down again they weren't gripping so well using those same pieces of material so I had to cut out some replacements. However, I've got so much left that was no problem. It certainly does it's job with regards mats to lino and I wish I'd bought it years ago instead of putting up with the mats slipping. However, mats to carpet and how you'd fair I can't say, but if in doubt, my advice is, go on line and get the company's email address or ring them direct. I've usually found any company's customer services extremely helpful and courteous. Sorry that I myself can't be more helpful to you. **Q: How well does this work on laminate flooring** A: I have mine on a carpet with a rug on the top of the gripper. It works well on carpet so I would think it will be ok on laminate flooring. **Q: Which side do you stick to carpet flooring..the tacky side or the side you peel off?** A: It matters not which side. I placed the first side on the rug then with help turned it over and placed it where needed. One pointer. If it’s a thin mat be careful when vacuuming. Once you pull up the rug you lose 75% effectiveness *by S***E on 19 February 2024* Was very happy and it worked great... until I had to move some stuff around the lounge and that meant lifting the rug.
