You can see them with my Bosch ROS20VSC. I have have some some Dura Gold to compare with. Otherwise the construction is top notch. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Mirka 23-615-180 5" 8-Hole 180 Grit Dustless Hook & Loop Sanding Discs - 50 Pack *by M***R on Reviewed in the United States on January 1, 2013* I feel OK recommending these to a friend. I would tell that friend, however, that they work for me and they're decent quality and a good value but not the "best ever" in my opinion.I build furniture for my own use and for family as a hobby. I've been doing this for several years so I have used a bit of sandpaper over that time. But I must confess that I have not used every sandpaper from every manufacturer! I should also confess that sanding and finishing are my least favorite part of the furniture building process. That means I probably change the sanding disc earlier than most since a fresh disc cuts quicker and gets the chore done faster.From that perspective, these Mirka discs work fine for me. They are made of lightweight paper but they hold on to my sander well and I haven't had to replace the disc because it tore or shredded. I replace the disc after I feel they are about 50% to 60% as effective as when I started. I estimate that I go through about 3 of these Mirka discs for the same amount of sanding chore as I would, say, 2 of a 3M sanding discs. So I definitely use more of the Mirka discs than I would a more expensive disc like the 3M brand. But that is no problem for me since the Mirka discs are quite a bit cheaper. I still think I'm spending about the same amount of money by comparison, but I think I get the sanding chore done quicker with the Mirka discs since I'm using a fresh, and sharper, piece of paper more often.Bottom line: They work well for me because I don't worry too much about wearing every last grain of sand off a disc before I change it out. And, given their current price, they are still cost effective for a hobby user when compared to the expensive, premium sanding discs I would get at a big-box hardware store. I have no problem buying more when these are gone. I would give 3.5 stars for quality of the discs and 5 stars for the low price. 4 stars overall since they work well for me!Hope this is helpful. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great Price, Great Performance *by J***E on Reviewed in the United States on December 19, 2013* I really got tired of paying what seemed a ridiculous price for the common 5 packs at the hardware store, so I sought out a bulk alternative. As they say, woodworking is 5% skill, 5% creativity and 90% sanding...so bulk sanding discs are critical to saving money. I searched Amazon to find some compatible 8-hole discs for my Dewalt random orbital sander and settled on these. After using my first pack quite extensively and being pleased with the results, I've now got a stock of almost all the grit sizes. The 50 packs tend to last me quite awhile, depending on the projects I have on hand.Overall, I would say that the performance compared to "name brands" might be slightly less, but then again, the cost is significantly less for these Mirka's, too. At roughly 35-40 cents a piece, I can afford to use another if the project calls for it. The 80 grit paper will remove a fair amount of stock, but you might consider the 60 grit if you have particularly rough surfaces to sand and need the power. I commonly use the 80 grit as my initial attack, unless I'm working with freshly jointed/planed wood where a slightly denser grit is a better first choice. I work with both hardwoods and softwoods and can say these discs do well on both.As for a tip, you'll get remarkably better performance if you hook up your ROS to a vacuum or dust collection system. I can easily say it improves the life of these discs by more than 50%, perhaps as much as 100%. The issue (with all discs) without dust collection is that the dust tends to get stuck in the grit, making a less effective sanding surface over time. When you use dust collection, most of the dust is removed from the sanding surface and you get greater performance over time. You'll also experience a cleaner shop/garage and won't have to spend as much time dusting!I won't hesitate to keep up with my supply of Mirka sanding discs.
