As for using the WR2 Rainbird rain and freeze sensor on the ESP 13 controller, I do not have first hand experience with this, but in reviewing the manuals for the ESP 13 controller and WR2 Rainbird rain and freeze sensor, the manuals indicate it is recommended for those controllers and the manuals provide connection instructions. You can get a pack of 5-10 for $5 and they'll make your sensor work as new. **Q: Mine is sst-600in, does it work with this model? i can directly connect the sensor to it or i need to buy a transformer?** A: I spliced the sensor power wires into the wires running from the transformer powering the controller. Works fine, no additional transformer needed. **Q: What is the difference between the 553000 & 553100?** A: The A553000 was the old version WR2RC which was a rain sensor only. The A553100 is the new WR2RFC rain & freeze sensor.
