Also after a couple sharpening does it still hold a edge like if it was new?** A: Mine has held its razor sharp edge with moderate usage. Can't speak to possible commercial constant use but works great for the casual fisherman. Nice grip feel while using too! **Q: how does this work on 3 pound catfish?** A: I only use it for skinning deer and elk, but it is a good knife and I would think it would work well for catfish. **Q: Is it full tang?** A: I'll be honest, given the shape of the handle and the design, i do not believe it is full tang. It might narrow out into the handle area but it is very sturdy. **Q: is it dishwasher safe?** A: No problems with mine.
