I was wrong! *by I***S on December 16, 2017* First, the actual lid is kinda hard to get on correctly but I found it's because it fits very snuggly on the plastic insert that the filter goes in. Once I straightened it out it fit find.On to the pH - I'm putting 2 photos. The light green one is tap water and the blue/purple one is from this pitcher. And it's new water as in I just filled it to get the sample... It works, and it's inexpensive compared with the other alkaline water pitchers on here. I'm buying one for my office as well!!! I just calibrated my digital pH monitor and it's reading 9.6 and my tap water is 7.1!!!Edit on July 2, 2018 - my pitcher unfortunately came apart at the seam and the seller IMMEDIATELY sent me a new one no questions asked.
