I was very dubious about buying this after reading reviews but I'm so happy I didn't listen to them now and went ahead and brought it anyway as it's probably the best thermometer I have ever brought, I definitely recommend it. Review: Worst Omron device. - Bought this 3 years ago and I did use it handful of times and I was not satisfied of accuracy at all. Today, I found it in the back of my bedside cabinet. Of course, it did not work so I decided to change the battery first time. I cannot open the battery cover! You have to unscrew tiny screw to open the battery cover and I am using screw driver for the glasses but the screw is so soft and is fixed so tight , I lost the head after 30 minutes of endeavour. What a waste of money.. . I am genuinely shocked of poor performance and poor quality of this thermometer from Omron. I think I throw it in the recycle bin this time rather than keeping in my bedside cabinet. Money completely wasted and I am so disappointed! You’ll need you purchase receipt too as it’ll start from date of purchase not first use. **Q: What battery does it need?** A: It requires 1 CR2032 lithium button battery (3V). But what difference does it make? :) **Q: where was it made** A: Made in China **Q: Does the display light-up? If so how do you activate it?** A: I do not have an Omron thermometer. I have one with Femometer written on the back. The display lights up when you press the sign BELOW the start button.
