## Description

Ingredients Organic, refined, expeller-pressed coconut oil

Review: Very healthy oil for cooking - I am very happy with it. I have used this type of oil for many years. It is a very healthy oil. I eat it more than I would wear it. I fry and bake with it. It does not break down fast like other oils would if you deep fry with it.
Review: Great product, but what a pain in the a$$ to open and pour - The product is great! But it could use a little bit of packaging repackaging, if you know what I mean. The container is just too huge and bulky. It would be nice if it was maybe a little slender or slimmer, and in more of a cylindrical shape. That way it would fit into some kitchen cabinet spaces easier. Also, I get it, you have to buy them both to get a better discount. But this is just way too much oil for let's say a little old lady to pick up and pour into her deep fryer. The funny thing is that at warmer temperatures it tends to be more viscous and liquidy. But in colder temperatures, it's solidifies into white gelatin pretty much. The reason why I mention that is because I was tempted to pour this into a smaller container with the funnel, and use as needed. But then it's solidified and colder temperatures. So what to do? This is definitely one of the best refined coconut oils out there, because they used the steam process instead of using harsh chemicals like hexane to pull out a more refined product in the end. Note to the manufacturer, maybe there's some way you can do two smaller containers, and still give that bulk deal of the best bang for the buck in terms of price for the product? Oh, and one more thing, I'm still trying to figure out how the lid was supposed to be opened. There's a pull tab, but it doesn't go all the way around the tub in terms of making it easier to open. It's just too confusing, are you supposed to cut the notched plastic part or not? Is it supposed to pull apart on its own? I gave this five stars, but in reality it should have been more like five stars for the actual product inside, but two stars for the packaging. Lol. Manufacturer, help us out here! Make the containers smaller, just offer two containers at the same price for the same amount of product? Is that possible?

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Why is this so expensive i can buy it for $12.99 a gallon locally where i live in the north east?**
A: I was wondering the same thing. My Amazon told me I last purchased this exact gallon sized container in 2017 for just under $18. Now it's $38? That's some crazy inflation! I'll find another more reasonably priced brand.

**Q: Can it be used in a Turkey frying?**
A: It's food grade coconut oil, since coconut oil is fine for deep frying food you should be fine. This doesn't have any coconut taste or smell either so you won't have a coconut turkey.

**Q: The container seems small for one gallon (height = 8.1"). Will one gallon of liquid fit in the empty container?**
A: I've not tried to to add liquid to an empty container, but I'm pleased with the size and the contents. I believe it is a gallon container.

**Q: what is the difference between cold pressed and expellar pressed?**
A: Hi mmjunki,Expeller pressed and cold expeller pressed describe the same process. With a cold expeller press there is no heater on the press and it runs at ambient temperature.Thank you, The Nutiva Team

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Healthier Oil to Deep Fry With (without the Coconut Aftertaste)
*by P***X on 21 April 2017*

I was researching which type of oil would be healthier to use in our deep fryer since we haven't had much luck with the oil-free deep fryers we've tried. Coconut oil seemed to come out on top so I invested in a ton of virgin coconut oil without digging in to research much further. Well that was fine when I was trying things like shrimp or chicken and I didn't mind it having a bit of a coconut flavor. Anything else and it came out tasting quite gross. Then I researched further and realized if I wanted to deep fry without the coconut aftertaste I needed refined coconut oil and not virgin, but the method of refining mattered to keep the healthy aspects of the oil. This oil met all of my requirements and was actually a really good price. It's a high quality product and the burn temp is higher than that of virgin coconut oil as well. If you're looking for a healthier oil to deep fry with I highly recommend this product. It will give you the benefits of frying with coconut oil without the coconut aftertaste.
