Review: Sharp, Safe, and Extremely Useful - A few years ago when visiting Alaska I purchased a "Ulu", the traditional cutting tool of the Eskimos. I have used it many times, but for my use I found that cutting sandwiches in half on the diagonal is primary. I place a sandwich on a paper plate and "roll" the knife across the sandwich; there is no pulling or separating since the cutting force is downward against the plate -perfect! I also use it to chop nuts by placing the nuts in a bowl just large enough for the knife and roll the knife back and forth. This knife is a Ulu and many guests in my home have seen me use it. The typical response is, "I have got to have one...where did you get it?" I tell them this one came from Alaska, but you may purchase one from desertcart. It comes with a wooden stand, ready for use, and cleaning it is a snap. It will become one of your favorite kitchen tools. Properly handled, it is one of the safest cutting tools known. I do not keep mine "razor sharp," but I am told that Eskimos shave with their ulu.

I bought this knife because I had one hand in a cast. I wanted something that I could chop food with one hand. Cast is gone and it turns out this is one of our favorite knives. It is very sharp so it chops and cuts perfectly. I recommend this product.
