A: The Motor Housing is the same, the power stroke is different due to the Pistons Size .

**Q: Will this work for the 2017 Explorer 3.5?**
A: No,  Ford changed the cams after 2015 and this tool is to small. Lyle tool makes the right one.

**Q: Will the kit number 303-1248 fit on a 2013 lincoln mkt 3.7l or do i need the other kit thats labeled 303-1655?**
A: It will hold the cams in place but the tools that come with the kit don’t fit.

Works as it should when used right, this tool is not designed to hold the cam while it's being torqued!! Not even the oe tool is. Use a 26mm wrench for that. It's to keep the cam aligned while installing the chains. I use my own quality torx plus bit.
