But since I was equally unsure whether my Dell would allow an extra power link without a lot of fiddling about, I thought it worthy a try.As it has only just gone in, it is too early to comment on longevity, but installation was easy and exactly as expected - one system restart to settle the software driver (from windows itself) and it's running. Essentially plug-and-play - Windows 10 64bit. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A Lifesaver *by S***. on Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 9 January 2018* I ended up purchasing this as a solution to an issue I had with my motherboard. I have an ASUS ROG Maximus 5 Extreme. However, over several years of constant use, quite a lot of the USB ports do not grip the cables and this causes a constant disconnect issue. This can be severely annoying as my headset has a wireless USB adapter. (A constant and repetitive loss of sound is extremely annoying)The reason I bought this over other PCI-E to USB adapters is the black PCB (So it's hard to see) and how the power is retrieved from the PCI-E slot. This means I don't need to route a Molex or SATA power cable to the unit. This is probably more important to me than others because I have a glass side panel on the PC. If you had a solid side panel on your case, this shouldn't be an issue.Installation was pain free for me. Just unscrew the PCI expansion cover and slot it in.
