I actually doubt that he ever recommended this mic for bass. With a pre-amp the feedback is uncontrollable. With just phantom power the volume I achieved was very low, and the sound quality no better than yer average fifty dollar mic. The clip provided with it for bass is really not dependable. The thin cable attached to it would be no good at all for gigging, but then you would only get feedback on stage anyway. I'm very disappointed.
