I hope this is helpful. **Q: can shears be sharpened with adhesive strip on.?** A: Yes, your shears can be sharpened as normal. The bracket that is attached to your shears is quite shallow and set away from the blades. **Q: can you cut the grass left to right** A: Unfortunately not as the box would need to be mounted on sheers designed for left-handed people on the opposite blade. **Q: If this is permanently fixed, can you still access the blades to clean and sharpen?** A: Yes, you can easily remove the collection box from the bracket to clean and sharpen the blades. When fixing the bracket in the first place, make sure that your blade is thoroughly cleaned and lightly sandpapered before removing the paper from the back of the bracket and fixing it to the blades according to the instructions provided. I then use a bulldog clip to hold the bracket in place for 24 hours to make sure it is firmly glued before clipping the collection box in place. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Collecting grass clippings *by A***Y on 18 August 2021* This is an excellent product which collects grass clippings as they are cut at the edges of the lawn. I use it before mowing the lawn, simply emptying the clippings on the lawn before they are picked up by the mower. This is the second one I've had - the first lasted many years before the attaching pegs broke, but this was fair wear and tear. After a number of years, the self-adhesive piece came unstuck, but I cleaned it and re-stuck it with Araldite - I'm now using that original piece with the new collecting box. All in all a very useful piece of equipment that saves a lot of tedious work. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Very useful product *by M***W on 1 July 2024* I love clipped edges, but hate picking them up so this product had to be purchased. It makes the job much easier and leaves you with a cleaner finish. If just edging a lawn it’s perfect but just need to bear in mind that if like me you have edging stones around a flower bed within the grass you need quite a wide gully between the two to allow for the extra width of the box on the shears. We just cut the gully a little wider to allow space. Now I get a perfect job every time without bending down so much. Very pleased. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ It works! *by G***N on 15 July 2020* The ClipperBox is easy to construct though you need to carefully clean the blade before attaching the box to the sheers using the adhesive strip.Delivered as promised and I used it today. It worked very well and saved me a job I hate - going back over the ground to gather the cuttings.UPDATE: used the clippers twice and the box has now detached from the blade. It would seem the glue arrangement wasn't strong enough to maintain attachment.
