That is the best rating for any of the Coppertone products. That being said it's seems to be a good sunscreen in my experience. To get to a #1 rating at EWG pretty much requires it to be a mineral based product. This is a chemical based sunscreen and to my knowledge there are no #1 rated chemical based sunscreens sold in the US. I have used a lot of different sunscreens over the years due to a medical condition called vitiligo. Every effective low or non hazardous sunscreen has issues in regard to individual perceptions. If you are looking for a sunscreen with little or no negative effects regarding how it feels on your skin then you need to use a product that is rated "very hazardous". Hazardous sunscreens can be very effective as a sunblock with little perceived negative effects regarding how it feels on your skin. The only problem is they are "hazardous"! You need to make the choice as to how many hazardous chemicals you want to put on your skin. There are no US manufactured chemical based sunscreens that are allowed to be sold in the European Union.
