If you soak them in detergent about 30 minutes to an hour, then gently hand wash (no scrubbing). Rinse and air dry should do the trick. **Q: I have 18" arms. When these stretch, does the uv protection dwindle?** A: I build swimming pools and have a lot of color to protect... Even when stretched it still does well. I will say though, if you are looking to work in these outside I would get something thicker like the Field and Stream brand... **Q: I have large upper arms, is it really one size? If you have larger upper arms how do they work for you?** A: They stretch and would fit any size **Q: Will Chlorine from a swimming pool damage the UV protection?** A: I've washed mine with small amount of detergent, and it works just fine. As it relates to chlorine, I honestly don't know. But at this price point, If no one gives you a sensible answer, I would suggest you try on one and give it a try.
