The only instructions were a small pamphlet written entirely in Chinese. I do not read Chinese. After a quick search on the manufacturer's website I knew enough to give it a try. In addition, I used advice from a review here. Did not fill above the little line inside the base pot. Made sure all the parts were secured firmly. It was so fast, maybe 2 minutes max, and the bottom was empty while the top pot was full. I took it off the heat once the coffee was made as the bottom piece then no longer had any water in it. The espresso was delicious. Just enough for 2 tiny cups. Made a second pot without any issues. I loved the temperature management as I could drink it right away.
