It carries a nutty, floral aroma with soft cherry and almond notes home bakers have relied on for generations. We keep the kernels whole, since mahlab is a delicate spice that begins losing its aroma soon after grinding. - GRIND FRESH FOR MAXIMUM FLAVOR - For the most fragrant results, crack or grind only the amount you need right before baking, using a spice grinder, mortar and pestle, or coffee grinder reserved for spices. A little goes a long way, mahlab is typically used in small pinches or by the teaspoon, so one bag lasts through many batches of bread, cookies and cakes. - TRADITIONAL RECIPES & USES - A signature spice in Greek tsoureki and Middle Eastern maamoul cookies, mahlab also flavors shortbread, holiday breads, cakes and sweet rolls. Beyond baking, a small pinch of freshly ground mahlab can be stirred into puddings, custards, ice cream bases and warm milk drinks for a comforting, aromatic touch that pairs naturally with cinnamon, honey and nutmeg. - SIMPLE, PANTRY-FRIENDLY INGREDIENT - This bag contains whole mahlab kernels only, with no added salt, fillers or artificial flavors and nothing else mixed in. That makes it easy to grind fresh, measure by the teaspoon, and control exactly how much flavor goes into each recipe, whether you're baking a small batch of cookies or a full holiday spread for family and friends. - STORAGE & FRESHNESS TIPS - Keep whole Mahlab seeds in a cool, dry place inside an airtight, ideally opaque, container away from direct sunlight, heat and moisture. Because whole seeds hold their aroma far longer than pre-ground powder, grinding small batches as you need them is the easiest way to keep this spice tasting fresh from the first bake to the last. ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | ASIN | B094476Y21 | | Age Range Description | All Ages | | Best Sellers Rank | #91,837 in Grocery & Gourmet Food ( See Top 100 in Grocery & Gourmet Food ) #659 in Seasoning Mixes | | Brand | NY Spice Shop | | Brand Name | NY Spice Shop | | Container Type | Bag | | Cuisine | Greek, Middle Eastern | | Customer Reviews | 4.4 out of 5 stars 75 Reviews | | Flavor | Mahlab Whole | | Item Form | Seeds | | Item Weight | 16 ounces | | Manufacturer | NY Spice Shop | | Number of Items | 1 | | Number of Pieces | 1 | | Size | 16 Ounce (Pack of 1) | | Specialty | 100 Natural | | UPC | 768253245752 | | Unit Count | 16 Ounce | ## Product Details - **Brand:** NY Spice Shop - **Item Form:** Seeds - **Number of Items:** 1 - **Specialty:** 100 Natural - **Unit Count:** 16 Ounce ## Images ![NY Spice Shop Mahlab Whole Seeds - 1 Lbs Mahlepi Mahleb Spice for Baking, - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/81047xYaQJL.jpg) ![NY Spice Shop Mahlab Whole Seeds - 1 Lbs Mahlepi Mahleb Spice for Baking, - Image 2](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/81TCIahEzCL.jpg) ![NY Spice Shop Mahlab Whole Seeds - 1 Lbs Mahlepi Mahleb Spice for Baking, - Image 3](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/81-AGsWgHEL.jpg) ![NY Spice Shop Mahlab Whole Seeds - 1 Lbs Mahlepi Mahleb Spice for Baking, - Image 4](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/81h7l92keaL.jpg) ![NY Spice Shop Mahlab Whole Seeds - 1 Lbs Mahlepi Mahleb Spice for Baking, - Image 5](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/914JOgwGdTL.jpg) ## Available Options This product comes in different **Size, Flavor** options. --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.hr/products/528882611-ny-spice-shop-mahlab-whole-seeds-1-lbs-mahlepi-mahleb](https://www.desertcart.hr/products/528882611-ny-spice-shop-mahlab-whole-seeds-1-lbs-mahlepi-mahleb) --- *Product available on Desertcart Croatia* *Store origin: HR* *Last updated: 2026-10-15*
