In case you don't know what taralli are, here is a bit of a background: Taralli are toroidal Italian snack food, common all over the southern half of the Italian Peninsula. Taralli are tasty crackers similar in texture to a breadstick or pretzel. In fact, they are both sweet and sugar-glazed or savory. With this being said, savory are usually flavored with onion, garlic, poppy seeds, fennel, pepper, chili or just salt. In fact Giannetti Artisans sourced a small family run business in Bari who makes our crackers with a secret family recipe. To this day, they have never revealed their recipe! Furthermore, the Extra Virgin Olive Oil used in the taralli crackers is from an area called Bitonto, known as the Olive Oil capital of Puglia (Apulia). Not to mention the fact that the producer uses flour that comes from the Apulia area called "Tavoniere delle Puglie". It is the second largest wheat producer in Italy right after Padania.
