Perhaps the manufacturer has shifted to preshrunk cotton--in my case (August 2023) the gi did not shrink at all. I ended up washing it 3 times in hot water and using "hot" when drying in a vain attempt to make the fabric shrink. No luck. So the pants have had to be hemmed by about 5-inches to be usable. Great gi otherwise.
