I haven't had it a long time, but the material feels very durable and I don't think I will have to buy another one in my lifetime. The numbers are so easy to read. I do not need to squint when I don't have my eyeglasses. I was also pleasantly surprised it is much longer than the usual 60 inches tape measure. This one goes to 79 inches. I also compared the markings with other measuring devices and they are accurate. I half expected it would come in Chinese inches which would defy universal measures.
