Review: Truly whisper quiet - When Panasonic says whisper quiet ,there not exaturating! The fan motor on this is just that,whisper quiet while still producing plenty of air flow. The oversized grill cover is a nice design touch. Would highly recommend this specific model for spaces like master bathrooms or a bit larger. Panasonic checks all the boxes. Quality ,value and Installation wasn't awful. A true premium product that knows it's job description well.
Review: Wow this is quiet and moves a lot of air! - This is my second high end Panasonic fan. My first fan is now 7+ years old and has performed perfectly since it was installed. When my 20+ year old Broan fan started vibrating and getting louder and vacuuming it didn't help, I went back to Panasonic and purchased this FV-1115VQ1 when it was on a deep sale at desertcart (discounted $80+). I paid someone else to install it and it took him a while (he faithfully followed all of the instructions) so I can't comment on the installation but I'm extremely happy with the fan. This fan had a bigger footprint than the fan that was originally there but the installer used the provided template to cut the new larger hole in the ceiling and it went in without a hitch and seated perfectly against the drywall with no gaps that needed to be sealed. This fan is whisper quiet; you can barely hear it when it's on and this with it set to its default 130 CFM setting. It's so quiet that a real problem with this fan is that you'll forget to turn it off because you can't hear it unless the room is very quiet. With my earlier Panasonic fan, I wired up a switch that lit up red when it was on to remind my kids that it needed to be turned off and I might do the same with this one. As you can imagine, at 130 CFM it moves a lot of air and humidity is not a problem in the bathroom. I used 6" insulated flex duct from Home Depot to vent the fan and it works perfectly and I shouldn't have issues with condensation. If you've installed this and the fan isn't whisper quiet for you then you should look at your ductwork; is it 6" duct? Did you install it so the duct goes straight for a couple of feet before slowly curving towards its destination? If you install the duct correctly the fan should have very little pressure to fight against.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: What does the "DC" mean?**
A: DC stands for direct current.  That's what makes the fan so quiet.  One thing to note, since the fan is DC, there is a ten second delay before the fan actually come on.  It works great though.

**Q: My install will be a retrofit. Can this be installed with no attic access?**
A: Per Panasonic, if you already have a fan installed and a switch in the wall to turn that fan on and off, this will help with the install.  This model does have the Flex-Z-Fast bracket to assist with install without accessing the attic. Depending on the size of the unit you are removing, you may need to cut a larger hole in the ceiling.  The base of the fan is 10-1/4“ x 10-1/4”.  Keep in mind, this model takes 6” duct, so depending what size duct the previous fan had, you may need to install 6” ducting to use this fan. The included installation manual will help provide further instructions for retrofit installations.

**Q: Can this fan be used for replacement vs new construction?**
A: I purchased this fan to replace an existing fan and I found the installation could have been a simple retrofit, but this model requires 6” ducting for proper operations. I made this ducting a part of my replacement as the previous fan was not properly installed. I will be purchasing a few more of these fans to install along with the appropriate duct and wall cap products. The fan includes an easy-to-install “Flex-z” bracket that makes this potentially a simple retrofit. The hole for the box is specked to be 10.5” square for “new” construction or 10 7/8” for replacement. I cut the hole for 10 7/8” and feel I could have made it the 10.5 “ size and still have made this retrofit work.

**Q: What is the sone rating?**
A: Per Panasonic website, it says .7 for sones. The fan seems to work well and is quiet.

This is my second high end Panasonic fan. My first fan is now 7+ years old and has performed perfectly since it was installed. This is a great exhaust fan, and so very quiet. The old one sounded like a jet plane in our bathroom. It was easy to install, no need to get in the attic. It’s designed to connect electrical and ductwork from below. Adjustable speed so you can adjust to your room size.
