I needed to replace the Bemis I bought at a big box store that lasted for only 3 years and I'm glad I got this one. The stainless-steel mounting pins that locate the seat assembly enable you to pull the whole seat and lid assembly off for cleaning. I use the shower spray nozzle hose and dish detergent on it and with the seat assembly removed, I can safely use the harsh disinfectant chemicals on the entire bowl surfaces for cleaning with a thoroughness not really possible with a conventional toilette seat. Cleaning time has been reduced with better results. The lid and seats lower gently without making a sound and we've found it quite suitable for potty training the grand kids. The seats and lid construction are of a sturdy light weight plastic that is comfortable to sit on. I'm getting another one for the downstairs bathroom.
