My son who is 6 loves counting money, but I went ahead and bought one for my daughter who is 8, because I thought she would want one after she saw his. They love playing with it, and love that they can have their own special 4 digit pin to open it back up (don't worry if they forget what it is they can reset it) My son deposits and doesn't really pay attention to the ending balance. Once the drawer opens you have to tell the machine how much you are taking out to keep a correct balance. I think they will play with it, even when they are older, it's just a cool toy! The fact that you can actually slide bills and coins into it etc. As far as the other reviews saying it was poor quality or damaged, ours was perfect!
