I was hesitant to pay so much for what seemed flimsy materials to me... I didn't "get" it til I used it for the first time. And now I am delighted I made the purchase. (In fact I came to Amazon to order a second one for my other home.) This design is, like the Aeropress, thoughtfully conceived in many details that become apparent as you use it. It is a perfect, steady base for pressing, and it's the perfect size for adding water to make a 'longer' coffee. I make Bulletproof coffee, so I blend in the other ingredients with my immersion blender right in the jug. Surprisingly, the JJ pours like a dream; usually just one small drip on the outside of the spout, not streaks of mess running down to the table. I don't use the insulating sleeve--I find the jug maintains the perfect temperature long enough for me to enjoy my cups. I have even come to appreciate the lightweight material: I have packed my coffee kit for an upcoming trip--all right inside the jug, and the clip has now revealed its beautiful functionality to me. This review is a gush because I am truly that impressed--I have no affiliation with any company related to the product. I'm just that rare thing: a very satisfied customer. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Hot pot for Aeropress. Coffee. Yum. *by G***E on January 30, 2017* This Javajug is a great accessory for the Aeropress. I just went to look and am glad I bought it last spring. I can't find them on Amazon today, 1/29/17 and it says they don't know if they will be back in stock. Maybe because it was pretty expensive for what it is and the cozy make it even more pricey. I paid $28.90 for my JavaJug, cozy combo. The Aeropress is sold separately.I love that my Aeropress and it's stuff stays together and clean in the JavaJug. They should have made more cozy colors to choose from. They only had red, blue and grey. I do wish that the top latch held a little better. At home it is no big deal because it sits on the counter by my coffee stuff and never tips over but while traveling and camping it has opened up a few times resulting me in chasing down parts in the coffee/tea/cooking stuff bin and having to wash the parts before using them. I am going to try and bend the latch a little to grab better.I love the measuring lines in it. I usually just make americano by pressing and topping it up with hot water. I love the stainless for looks and functionality. The cozy keeps my coffee hot for the 2nd cup. If this thing had a lip protector I would drink out of it. It keeps the coffee warm better than my mug. I need a mug cozy to keep my coffee hot. I preheat the Javajug, Aeropress and my coffee mug with boiling water before I start making coffee and still the mug gets cold fast especially when camping. I guess I need to drink faster.They say you can boil water in it but the handle gets really hot and it is hard to maneuver on the stove while trying not to catch the hot pad on fire. I tried it on our campstove once after taking the cozy off and will not use it on a burner, electric or gas again. It is too narrow for safety and the stainless is a little discolored from that adventure. Also after boiling water in it I was concerned that it was too hot to put the cozy back on. Sticking to the teapot for boiling water.As for washing it up I haven't had rusting on the latch pin and latch like some other reviews but I don't put it in the dishwasher or in soapy water. I just put some hot water in it, dump that out and wipe it out with a paper towel and let it air dry. Same with the Aeropress. I just rinse that with hot water after pressing and dumping the grounds on the flower bed at home or in the trash, wiping with paper towel then letting that air dry.Overall I would buy this again and would recommend it to other Aeropress users. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Essential for AeroPress *by J***. on December 1, 2015* I love my JavaJug! It is solidly constructed, simple, light, and meticulously engineered. The aeropress is absolutely incomplete without this product. I use the JavaJug to carry my aeropress to and from work in my backpack, which has both reduced my carry weight versus carrying a filled thermos and allowed me to have the freshest possible coffee at work. As a cyclist, every ounce counts.The ability to boil and measure water in the JavaJug is indispensable. It takes all of the guesswork out of making multiple cups of coffee or getting a consistent single americano. After boiling several times on coil, glass, and gas burners, the Jug is unscathed and the marks are as clear as when I bought it. Even the neoprene sleeve is thick and sturdy, dries quickly, and relatively stain resistant. Because the bare metal is not very insulated, I strongly discourage choosing the option without the sleeve.I was very impressed with the quality of the JavaJug. The clasp is secure, although I found it fits best if you push the press towards the opposite side as you clasp it.TL;DR - Buy this yesterday if you love your AeroPress.
