There is some discrepancy in the product description and the documentation. The product description says it is a smart charger "Intelligent circuit design protects against over-heating, over-currents, over charging and short circuit; Charging stops when battery is full". The documentation states that you must remove the device when it is fully charged to prevent damage. I'm not sure which is true. ### ⭐⭐ Phone does not stay on the surface of the charger. NOT worth it. *by A***A on Reviewed in the United States on March 12, 2018* I have an Otterbox on my iPhone X so I was fully expecting to have to take my case off (which I did) but the problem is, is that the back of the new iPhones are glass making them very slippery. The surface of this charger is a smooth, matte plastic surface; this mixed with the smooth glass back of my iPhone makes it so my phone will not even stay on the charger when it's on completely flat, level surfaces. I've tried multiple times to charge my phone with this overnight and every time I wake up, my phone has slid off and it has obviously not been charged. I even turned off the vibrate in case that was what was causing it to shift during the night and it still slid off. Simply lay your phone on top of it and voila! instant charging! Works for my Samsung Galaxy S8 and my husband's Iphone X. The charger is a tad bit picky about where you lay your phone on it. It MUST be exactly in the middle of the charger so you can't just throw it at the charger & walk away. You need to wait a second to watch for the charging light to change from green to blue.
