Beware, if ou correct someone from another country, they will appreciate it that you did (for some Americans that is a surprise) but second is that after correcting them -- they often ask why. As native speakers we seldom know the answer to this question. That' is about the time I was concluding that though we have pronunciation "rules" they are not tightly applied in all situations. So I hunted for A book on rules and this was the jewel I have needed. I highly recommend this book if ou are teaching or learning English. The only piece that I would suggest to be added to make it perfect isl adding the images of the tongue position when pronouncing words or specific sounds. Theycan be found on the web so it shouldn't be difficult to develoop a set of them and place them in the book.
