Waist belt is light for tree climbing. *by S***K on December 3, 2025* I'm not sure what people expect for this price. Seller offered a coupon, this cost me $45. None of the D-rings on mine are rough (that reviewer can't even tell the difference between cast and stamped) I touched them with a file, all are of acceptable hardness. Honestly, I prefer stamped rings, at least there can't be inclusions in a sheet, while a casting might hide a flaw. Years in harnesses while working on roofs, scaffold, or a lift bucket. I've worn worse. The stitching is nothing to write home about, why the U and V shapes, IDK. Kinda silly, IMO. The buckles use rivets on the swiveling parts, I'll be replacing these with bolts to ensure that the tolerances are maintained. Note: bolts with a un-threaded shank in the stress area. Threads could wear or deform, and allow slop. The waist belt is too light for a big man, if it's being used with tree climbing spikes and a rope. The D-rings are also farther back than I like, for this particular use. Sewing a new waist belt made from heavy webbing, and moving those rings forward, are both on my to-do list. Otherwise, for $45 I'm pretty happy. No OSHA worries here, and I'm not 100 stories up, nor am I a clutz.
