## Description

Hard water spots and mineral deposits are among the most stubborn challenges in detailing - left untreated, they etch into surfaces and become increasingly difficult to remove. Heavy Duty Water Spot Remover is a professional-grade gel engineered to dissolve calcium buildup, mineral staining, and water marks from paint, glass, chrome, and metal without scratching or damaging delicate finishes. The thick gel formula clings to vertical panels and glass for extended dwell time, giving the active ingredients time to break down deposits at the surface level. Apply a thin, even layer to a microfiber applicator pad, work into the affected area using light circular pressure, and allow 30-60 seconds of dwell time before wiping clean. For heavily etched or long-standing mineral buildup, two to three applications may be needed to fully lift deposits - this is normal for severe staining and not an indication of product failure.Safe on clear coat, polished metals, chrome trim, aluminum, stainless steel, and exterior glass. Works on cars, trucks, motorcycles, RVs, boats, and a wide range of hard surfaces wherever mineral deposits and water staining occur. After treatment, surfaces are clean, smooth, and properly prepped for waxes, sealants, or ceramic coatings. Mineral deposits left on paint can block protective products from bonding correctly - removing them first ensures better adhesion and longer-lasting protection. Follow up with Chemical Guys Butter Wet Wax or a ceramic spray coating for a complete finish.Questions about application or results? Our detailing specialists are available at 866.822.3670.

Review: Really impressed with this product - Okay, it took me a good couple of tries to get this right, but we figured her out. Literally the same philosophy as bleaching hair. My car's windows have been sporting extremely baked-on water stains because I had neglected her for several years. I tried clay, vinegar, Windex, and a sponge (which, honestly, out of the three, kind of worked the best, weirdly), but the results were all varying levels of disappointment. I was drawn to this product because of its heavy-duty nature. It certainly smells dangerous. And it has the consistency of snot, which is... Moving on. The directions advise not to let the goop dry. This is hugely important. Don't waste your time and product in the sun or on a warm surface. Can confirm, the product does not work if dry (like with bleaching hair). It is permanently windy where I live, so "ideal conditions" for preventing drying are incredibly rare. Spent a lot of time and product trying to find the best way to prevent drying. My technique for combating drying was really making sure to thickly layer the dangerous-smelling snot on the glass. However, this may not be necessary on a dim, cool, still evening. I also slowly ramped up the amount of time I left the goop on the glass. Thirty seconds just did not do it for my very old and baked-on stains. To be honest, I wasn't terribly precise. I was kind of going by vibes. I would apply the goop, and it wasn't until the surface was entirely covered that I would start a mental clock. I probably left the treatment on for anywhere from 30 to 120 seconds. (Much like bleaching hair, it needs time to process, and the severity of the stains will ultimately determine how much time it takes to be effective. Further, the place you begin the application begins processing immediately. If your area is too large or if you take too much time to completely coat the area, the final result will be uneven.) I did not see any damage as a result of leaving the treatment on longer than 30 seconds, but I did not leave it on any longer than 2 minutes. I would still recommend proceeding with caution if you want to play around with the time here. Now, I was confused by the direction to "soak" the area. Maybe it's just me. I couldn't picture it. I elected to douse my entire car in water for several minutes after treating each section before wiping it all dry again. Time will tell if that was an effective method or if I damaged my paint. But guys, oh my god. I really should have taken before and after photos. I am kicking myself. I mean, I hoped it would work, but I did not expect it would work this well! My windows literally look brand new, it is amazing. I have a mid-sized, four-door sedan. Even with my liberal application and my test runs to figure it out, I only used about half of the bottle on the door windows and the back windshield. I'm pretty impressed with how far a 16 oz bottle is going. The power of snot. Would recommend.
Review: Works great! - How refreshing to find a product that actually works as promised! Recently bought a dark gray 2024 Honda with hard water spots all down the right side of the car, from the rockers to half way up the side glass. Probably from sprinklers, would not come off in washing. Used this product as directed and it removed every water spot. Worked great on the glass, chrome and plastic trim and bumper covers. Watch the Chemical Guys videos on YouTube for a few tips. I applied medium/firm pressure on the applicator pad, left and right, up and down, no circles. After about the sixth pass I could see the water spots fade away, rinsed with water and buff dry. Just takes a little elbow grease. If your water spots have sun baked in for ten years, this may not work for you, but I'd start with this first and see how it goes. If it doesn't work, you'll need to get a more aggressive product.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: What causes water spots on car paint and glass?**
A: Water spots develop when mineral-filled water dries on paint, glass, or chrome, leaving behind visible rings or streaks. These deposits cling to exterior surfaces and require a dedicated car detailing product to remove them safely.

**Q: Can Heavy Duty Water Spot Remover be used on paint, glass, and chrome?**
A: Yes. The formula targets stubborn marks on paint, clear coat, glass, chrome, and metal trim. It helps restore shine and clarity by breaking down mineral residue without harsh scrubbing during regular car wash or detailing routines.

**Q: How does this product compare to regular car wash soap for removing spots?**
A: Regular car wash soap cleans dirt and grime, but cannot dissolve bonded mineral deposits. Heavy Duty Water Spot Remover uses a specialized gel to break down spots quickly, making it a more effective solution for exterior detailing.

**Q: When should I use a water spot remover in my car wash process?**
A: Use it after washing and drying the vehicle, especially when you notice dull marks or spot outlines on paint or glass. Adding it to your detailing routine helps maintain a smooth, clean surface and prevents long-term buildup.

**Q: Is this safe for beginners learning car detailing at home?**
A: Yes. The easy-apply gel is simple to use and works with any car wash or detailing routine. Apply by hand with a microfiber applicator, wipe clean, and reveal a clearer, smoother surface on cars, trucks, SUVs, and motorcycles.

### ⭐⭐⭐ Determined to keep trying!!

I am on a mission to try to get my shower glass door crystal clear as when I first got it two years ago. I wipe down my shower doors each night and clean them each weekend but I have well water and that causes orange stains around any surface that has been in contact with water. It also causes hard water stains on glass, shower, and porcelain. So far, this product has not removed all the general light water stains on my shower doors. My shower doors are not yet crystal clear. I tried just wiping it in a circular motion with a microfiber cloth like the video and most of the water stains remain. I tried leaving the product on the glass longer and using a magic eraser in a circular motion to wipe the product off and the water stains are still there. The product has removed about 90% of the original stains. You can definitely still see the rings. I do love the thick product. The bottle size will last us awhile! It is not a spray but it’s highly concentrated and works well on my mirrors. I plan to use this weekly in my other new glass shower door and will update as needed.
