Review: Fantastic. Gigabit speeds up the street! - My house is like a Faraday cage. Wi-Fi signals don't get out or in thanks to the construction which includes inner breeze blocks, insulation and out brick plus double glazing. The Deco BE25 did a great job overcoming this limitation. Installation is easy as it can be pile mounted, wall mounted, or table mounted.. All fixings are included. I chose wall mounted and this was simply achieved by using a 6mm drill bit and the included wall plugs to mount the back plate to the wall. Next up, the Deco BE25 just slides down onto this and clips into place. Power can either be from a mains power lead, a 3m one is included, or, power over ethernet as the BE25 also includes 2x 2.5Gb LAN ports, all of which are neatly sealed away in the underside of the unit. First setup was done by connecting to an outdoor electrical socket and testing firstly with an ethernet cable out the window and once happy, I ran the cable through the wall as pictured and used a TP Link PoE injector, allowing me to get rid of the long power lead to my outdoor socket. Setup was very simple, with the existing Deco network recognising the new unit and copying over the existing network settings, such as name and password, etc. Wifi speeds and range are excellent. I went from getting virtually no signal outside, and poor speeds of around 160 Mbps in the back gate, which dropped to zero on the other side of the gate, to getting a usable signal as shown on my other images from quite a distance from the house. I would definitely recommend this to anyone wanting good outdoor wifi as I can now sit in my car in the street and do what I need to do, even if the mobile network is down. Finally, security. Security is strong as the BE25 supports WPA3 and also copies the other network details from the main Deco Mesh.
Review: Great outdoor addition to the garden - well made and good speeds!! - I added one of these outdoor nodes to my TP-LINK BE9300 mesh setup, which I already had. I don't think they do BE9300 Outdoor model, so I settled for the BE3600. I plugged into a POE switch, left for 10 mins, and joined my network without any issues. For reference, my garden is a fair size at 15m x 60m, so I've placed this on a tree about 9ft tall in the center of my garden. My 1 Gbps Virgin connection now reaches everywhere and gets speeds of 800/900Mbps. I chose this model because I can take advantage of the extra port on the node if I have a summer house at the bottom of the garden down the line. Very happy with the purchase and can't fault the setup or speeds I'm getting.
