It's very minimalistic being white, blending into the decor. When lit it is a statement piece. Had there been a choice we would have chosen black but it would have been a big mistake. The adjustment of the 2 rings is easy and limitless. It gives excellent illumination and is very good for doing cross stitch! In our modern contemporary home it's perfect. Unlike the lamp it replaced the wire is invisible. The grandchildren think it's magic as the touch control isn't seen either. Providing it lasts for as long as stated we are very pleased with the purchase. It was delivered very quickly in several boxes , all recyclable.
