BRAND NEW LINEN Pillow Sham made from Gorgeous 1940s Hand Embroidered FRENCH Table Linen with Handmade Bobbin Lace and Striking 1770-80s Reproduction Floral Cotton Fabric on back.SIZE: 20" X 17" or 51 X 43 cmDETAILS: Pillow is fully lined, freshly laundered and strongly reinforced at the corners and insert sleeve to ensure quality craftsmanship. Most vintage fabrics show minor use or imperfections which add to the patina and authenticity of the piece.STORY: In its previous life, this beautiful vintage hand-embroidered linen was a table linen, surrounded by handmade wide Bobbin Lace, and securely sewn to New Quality Navy Blue Llinen. On the pillow's back is reproduction floral cotton fabric (1770-1780s) that was purchased at an old mercantile shop in Colonial Williamsburg, Washington DC.. In back, CELLULOID navy buttons secure a pillow insert (not included). Celluloid buttons were popular during the late 1800s through the 1920s. They could be made to imitate ivory or wood. By the 1930s, Bakelite buttons had taken their place as the most popular.
