Review: Seems to do the job but don't get it on your hands!!! - This stuff seems to work quite well: I had a window casement that the elements had started to deteriorate, and wanted to prolong its life until ready to fully replace it. After sanding and treating the wooden framing, I applied this using an old clean toothbrush. It's quite easy to apply but if you get it on your fingers it is horrible stuff to remove, so wear disposable gloves. Time will tell the extent to which it 'rescues' the window, but post application the wood itself seems strengthened and I am quietly optimistic.

It does however seem to work well on the wood that has started to rot and has certainly strengthened it.

**Q: Would you use this on the whole area**
A: It's only required on the rotted area.  Cover the entire rotted area, allow to dry then rub down.

**Q: How long between applying coats?**
A: About four hours. Longer if colder. If you are using wood filler allow about 12 hours after wood hardener is applied.

**Q: Under the cap, there’s a little metal lid that seems to be welded on!! Any advice on how to take it off safely? I’ve tried a stanley knife but nope.**
A: I used a screwdriver to prize it off. Not easy but don't worry about destroying the metal lid.

**Q: Does this dry clear, or milky white?**
A: It dries clear unless it gets wet before drying - then it is milky white - I found the same with the Ronseal product

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ This Stuff is Amazing!!

This is a thin resin type material. It reminds me of the liquid used for fibre-glass, or perhaps a thin version of PU glue. It's stinky and pretty horrible if you get it on your fingers. It's readily absorbed by wood, and the end effect is rather like painting it with yacht varnish, except it's rock hard in two hours. It sets like plastic so the surface is water repellent and tough. Looks like a varnish, so you may not need any finishing at all, or seems to be a good base for paint. All in all it's a fantastic product. This is the first time I have used it, it won't be the last. I had imagined this to be absorbed like a very thin liquid and to then convert all the soft wood to something really hard. That's not really what it does. Yes, there is some absorption, but not much. It forms a solid, yes, but only the top of the treated wood. So, I think the way to proceed is to thoroughly soak the wood with preservative, then when that's dry, hit it with this to form a water resistant surface that protects and provides a great key for filler. Highly recommended.
