About the bristles… "Natural Bristles" which are out of "bamboo viscose" are usually not biodegradable, unfortunately. The base product might be partly bamboo, but the viscose-process is tied to many toxic chemicals which in the end reach the environment. Additionaly does bamboo viscose not have the needed stability and mostly they need to add polyester for the final bristles. Also "bamboo fiber" or "bamboo charcoal" bristles only have a small percentage which is bamboo, the rest is polyester as well. And have you ever heard, polyester is biodegradable? See... ;) As for right now there are unfortunately no real Nylon4 bristles on the markets, because they are too porose and instable to be used for toothbrushes. And most claimed Nylon4 bristles are just regular Nylon6. Only a lab test would help out. So we thought a lot what to use and in the end decidet to use bristles out of Nylon which however is derived from 62% castor oil. Mixed with bamboo charcoal it is extra anti-bacterial. Disposal? Please break off the head and put it in the general waste.
