Madagascar Gourmet Vanilla Beans from a 100-year-old family business specialising in vanilla since 1918. Lustrous hand-cured and hand-selected vanilla beans from the chief source of the world’s best-quality vanilla. Nothing is plain about these pods. Each vanilla bean is more than 5.5 inches (15-16 cm) long, packed with gorgeous black seeds and plump with its correct moisture content, unlike the dried-out beans you often see in supermarkets. These are the dominant planifolia variety, as distinguished from the shorter, drier Tahitian bean. Fabulous in creamy desserts such as homemade ice cream and creme brulee, white cakes and baked goods, as well as fancy savoury dishes. The first choice of top chefs. Each black pod is the result of painstaking craftsmanship, nurtured by hand start to finish, hand pollinated and sun-cured over many months, with careful inspection at each step. We select only fully ripe, late harvest beans. They are sourced directly from our village cooperatives to assure quality and a fair price to farmers. **Q: Do you get more bean for your buck with the 8oz or the pack of 50?**
A: The 8oz only had 10 vanilla beans. If you’re using them for something special I’d get the pack of 50. If I order again I’ll be ordering a 50 pack.

**Q: How many beans to make vanillla?**
A: I use one vanilla bean string at a time. Infuse and strain in water and then use it for cake batter

**Q: Do the Vanilla beans need to be refrigerated?**
A: No

**Q: Why do these beans smell so stong of dates? I smelled a little of vanilla when i first opened, but more like dates. Now it only smells of dates**
A: I was quite disappointed, exactly like dates ,no vanilla. Also no option to return or get any type of refund.
