Another review said it took a couple of applications to get to the "scrubby" stuff, so I ran it over my hand a couple of times till the gritty bits came through before used on lips. In two days, the peeling dry skin has gone and the lips feel pretty good. There is balm left on the lips after you wipe any remaining gritty bits off which feels nice too.
