I think the trick is to make sure that your order is direct from desertcart so that you get OEM parts not generic. I would not accept generic parts for this price. Its well packaged and comes with an installation CD/DVD although I didnt watch it, installation is very simple. The battery is identical to the one being replaced from my APC 1500, it is branded as a genuine APC product and was labelled with a manufacture date of August 2010. They provide a sticker so you can note the date you installed it, I also noted down it was a no.7 cartridge.
