Review: We have been using this salt for years and years. Won't be buying it ever again because of massive price gouging and a huge change in the product. What happened to this salt? I was preparing to make a brine for chicken so I heated water like I always do, added a large amount of salt, stirred it , saw the salt dissolving, and minerals swirling in the bottom (as usual), and then all these grey black particles started to float up and collect at the TOP of the water. I stirred more thinking these minerals needed to be blended more, then I saw them float UP again and they started gathering together as the water swirled in a clump on the top?? Started getting alarmed because I had NEVER seen this before in this salt. Because these particles kept gravitating toward each other (like a magnet) I decided to see if they were magnetic. So I grabbed a strong magnet and placed it next to the glass. Results? This floating grey clump, that had gathered together, on top of the water, then broke up into particles again and they all gravitated towards the magnet on the outside of the glass! I do not know what is going on with this salt that I have trusted for years but I will never ever be buying it again. It's unfortunate too because the other sea salt I tried (Kirkmans brand) was loaded with micro-plastics that wouldn't dissolve unless the water was very hot then those plastics floated to the top after the water cooled. No thanks. The only salt I've found that doesn't have these weird issues is Mortons canning salt. But won't be buying it online because (just as they have done with this salt) it cost 4 times more and it's freshness is questionable with people saying it has strange smells etc. It's gravely insulting to sell a trusted product for double and triple the price only to see something weird and unhealthy has greatly changed the quality. Is this true? And also how does it taste? Thanks!** A: That's absolutely true. Guess what gets transfused when no blood is available? SEA salt, OR salt water infused with minerals. That's right, folks. Retaining fluid? High blood pressure? Put one grain/one little cube of the unground Celtic sea salt under your tongue until dissolved followed by one cup of water (non-fluoridated is best; fluoride is TOXIC). Repeat with water: for every 55kg or 121 lbs. of body weight, you should drink 2 liters of WATER daily. DO NOT USE TABLE SALT; it contains near-zero counts of minerals, and you need magnesium and potassium for proper water weight and cellular function. That's the miracle of sea salt--it has three forms of Mg. Also, Mg. requires a LOT of water to metabolize, so it pulled the water from the gut, making stools . . . well, less runny. Today's table salt has aluminum to keep it flowing: aluminum! A toxin also used in antiperspirant! High blood pressure is the body's way of forcing Mg. into our blood cells when potassium is too low. Selina Naturally has other salts that come from unique locations like Spain, Portugal, Guatemala, Hawaii, and Mexico, but they are not this salt. **Q: some products say additive free but contain additive to conduct the free flow of salt any info re this issue** A: I don't know what they put in it to make it flow freely but they don't put enough. I had so much trouble getting this salt to come out of my salt shakers I had to stop putting it in them. It was frustrating because it would stick together and clog up the holes and I would have to use a toothpick every mealtime to unclog them. I would only advise buying this salt if you're willing to spoon it or shake it onto your food straight from the bag or from a jar. It does taste good. **Q: How is this usually consumed? Is there any preparation before you consume it?** A: You can use it during cooking, and to season food at the table. I also sprinkle it on popcorn. No preparation is required if you get the fine grind. The course grind is kinda big to use for seasoning after cooking.
